On-premise deployments run inside your own infrastructure, isolated from aqua's network, since you host and run the instance yourself. Migration takes one day on average. A free migration tool moves your projects across and preserves revision history.

Where is our data stored, and can we choose the region?

Cloud deployments are hosted in Germany or with a third-party provider in a different region. On-premise deployments run inside your own infrastructure, so the region is wherever that infrastructure sits.

Can we run aqua fully on-premise, and does anything phone home?

Yes, aqua can run entirely on-premise, isolated from aqua’s own network.

Who at aqua can access our data in the cloud deployments?

By default, no aqua employee accesses your content. We never access your data, unless you explicitly request us to do so, or access is required to resolve a security incident or meet a legal obligation. Every access is logged. Our security practices are certified under [ISO 27001].

What exactly is in the audit trail, and how do we export it?

The audit trail covers test execution history, management approvals, and item changes across requirements, test cases, and defects. Export any of it as a custom report in one click.

Is aqua GDPR, DORA, and ISO 27001 compliant, and where's the evidence?

Yes. Certification evidence for ISO 27001, GDPR, and DORA, along with IEC 61508, DO-178C, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11, is in aqua’s Trust Center.

What happens to our data if we leave?

You can export your data before your contract ends. After that, we delete it from our systems.

Does on-premise get the same features as cloud, including aqua Intelligence?

On-premise installations include every feature except aqua Intelligence, since aqua Intelligence runs on aqua’s own infrastructure and on-premise deployments are fully independent of it. If you want aqua Intelligence alongside an on-premise deployment, aqua can connect it to the AI model of your choice as a paid add-on. Contact support for details.

Can aqua run in an air-gapped environment?

Yes. aqua is available as an on-premise installation that runs entirely within your own infrastructure, with no internet connection required.
